Triad Spring Parade of Homes

Triad Spring Parade of Homes

The Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem (HBAWS) and the Greensboro Builders Association teamed up again this year in promoting the annual Triad Spring Parade of Homes.

Homes were open for two weekends in late April and the first weekend in May throughout Winston-Salem, Greensboro and surrounding communities, showcasing the talent of local building professionals. And not only were design and elements of style on display from area builders, but products and services of all kinds from many of the shops, showrooms and manufacturers were highlighted in every home.

“New construction gives consumers the chance to see the latest products, including energy savers and beautiful new architectural designs,” said Jerry Herman, executive vice president of the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem. Current trends for interior, exterior and landscaping were showcased, as well as lighting, doors, windows and even plumbing.

The homes in the Spring Parade offered creative new styles and design selections, and gave prospective home buyers the opportunity to meet the builders face-to-face. “It is very important to talk to people during the Parade of Homes to get their feedback and reaction to what they see and feel in our home,” said Jonathan Lee, an award-winning builder and member of the Home Builders Association. “It’s fun to watch the excitement on their faces as they walk into a beautiful master bathroom or kitchen.” Lee’s entry into the Parade this year was in the Brookberry Farms neighborhood off Meadowlark Drive in Winston-Salem.

The Spring Parade offered more than new home construction as there were also developments featuring lots with possible house plans for those considering building a custom home. Those developments included Fountain Brook, Montrachet, Shelburne Village at Camelot and Timberfield. Lot sizes vary from medium to large, and include the lower maintenance smaller lots for the busy lifestyles or retired individuals.

The price range of homes in this year’s Parade started in the $140s and topped out at $749,000, with something to fit each individual’s budget. By all reports, both weekends saw very strong attendance by the public. “The traffic for this Spring Parade was overwhelming. There was a steady stream of people looking to purchase a new home, gather ideas for a remodeling project, or just trying to find that perfect paint color,” said Lee.

The 2013 Spring Parade of Homes’ exclusive event sponsor was Piedmont Federal Savings Bank. “They have been long-time members of the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem and our community. We are thankful for their support of HBAWS and the home building industry,” said Herman.
