In the landscaping business, professionals refer to the inanimate elements in the design as “hardscape.” For the past 15 years, Lee Bowman, owner of Hardscape Concepts, Inc., has built a successful business in this niche market.
As a designer, he uses color, shape, and texture of materials to create a maintenance-free “fifth room” that increases property value.
“It’s like painting a picture,” Bowman says. “We take a project from bare ground to eye-catching beauty.”
