Hands on for over 40 years
ADAMS DesignBuild, Inc. continues the family tradition.

Since June Adams began building homes with his son Garland over 40 years ago, the Adams have had their hands on each project they have worked on. When Brent Adams, the third generation, joined the business in 2003, he realized this hands-on approach to building fine custom homes and remodeling was one of the main keys to the success of the family business.
Being hands on is beneficial for the client in many ways. For one, Adams DesignBuild believes you get a higher quality product with fewer folks involved. With design/build, the project is even more streamlined. Brent and Garland’s expertise and experience gives them the ability to see their client’s vision and bring distinctiveness to the home, both the complex and practical.
“One of our clients purchased an older ranch home on a beautiful property; there are lake views on three sides of the home but you could barely see the lake as it was.” Garland explains. “We helped them realize their vision, pushing out the front, in back and towards the sky. Now those wonderful views are enjoyed throughout the home.”
“My father and grandfather instilled in me that being hands on is important so our customers get the home they envision,” says Brent. “We work with outstanding designers and architects or we develop the design for the customers ourselves. Then we stay directly involved throughout the project.” In fact, Brent does a good bit of custom trim and special cabinetry himself.
Adams DesignBuild understands the homes they build should not only be of the highest quality, but also more efficient, healthier, and environmentally friendly. “Custom home buyers are becoming more educated on sustainable building and know these features will pay off for them as well as the community in which they live as energy costs rise,” says Brent. “We are truly committed to building lasting, beautiful, and comfortable homes.”
Brent’s appreciation for the beauty and simplicity of modern architecture has led to a new division, ADAMS modern. “Following in the footsteps of my dad and grandfather, I’m excited to offer another custom home option for families here in the Triad.”
