Spring has arrived early and with it, the anticipation of the 2012 Spring Parade of Homes. Visitors will have an opportunity to view some of the Piedmont’s most spectacular newly constructed homes as they gather ideas and visualize a home where they will build their family memories.
On the tour they can visit one very special home, lovingly crafted by our dear friend Buck Horn. Buck’s untimely passing would have left it uncompleted, if not for a special family of fellow home builders and friends from the building trade who volunteered their talents to pay tribute to him and his family.
The “Tribute Home” is in the exciting new Lake at Lissara development. While there, stop by to see Alan and Debbie Fletcher right next door. Both of these fine homes have been chosen to represent our local Home Builders Association, and you will see the finest in home craftsmanship and detail in each one of them.
In this issue, you will get to know builders whose families, through generations or through their spouses, have helped establish them as the some of the best in the industry. You will read about Garland and Brent Adams of Adams DesignBuild, a father and son team who carries on the family tradition started by Brent’s grandfather.. And then you have Darren Burke and his wife Sherry, a team of dreamers who continually are creating something new with the thought that life’s most important memories will be made in a home.
Family memories are built on days, weeks, months and years. Life flies by. Buck Horn’s tribute home is a remarkable example of how “family” is the focus for many builders and design companies we’ve featured in this issue of home re·source. It’s about family…the traditions, the collaborations, the enjoyment, and the celebrations. A home is about creating memories.
From our family here at home re·source to yours,
Happy Spring!
