Safe Sober Prom Night has been using positive peer pressure to help high school students make smart choices on prom night for over 22 years. David Daggett, co-founder of this incredible program, says he often meets students whose parents participated in the program when he started it in 1991. Daggett is proud to be bringing the Safe Sober message to a whole new generation of teenagers and is looking forward to giving T-shirts to their kids someday. Originally, the program involved handing out free T-shirts at Hanes Mall to kids who signed a pledge not to drink and drive on prom night. This year, David Daggett and Griff Shuler, along with other representatives of the law firm, will hand out over 14,000 free T-shirts at 36 area high schools. www.SafeSober.com.
This is Great News! Housing starts in the U.S. hovered in February near a three-year high and building permits rose, adding to signs that the industry at the heart of the last financial crisis is stabilizing. Builders broke ground on 698,000 homes at an annual rate, in line with the median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News and down 1.1 percent from a January pace that was stronger than previously reported, Commerce Department figures showed. Building permits, a proxy for future construction, climbed to the highest level since October 2008. Rates are low and builders are ready to build your new home!
